CHAN will not take place in June and July- Ahmed Ahmed

CAF President Ahmed Ahmed has confirmed that the CAF Africa Nations Championship also known as CHAN will not be played in June and July due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.

The competition was set to start in early April in Cameroon but the start of the disease pushed it back.

In an interview with Le Monde, Ahmed Ahmed revealed that they are not ready to play the tournament yet.

"It is too early to determine the date of the next edition, whether in 2020 or 2021."

"The only thing that seems clear, is that the tournament will not be held in Cameroon in June and July, due to climatic conditions."

Regarding the semi-finals, the Champions League final, and the CAF Cup, Ahmed Ahmed said: "The semi-finals are scheduled to play early May, we will adapt according to the health situation, and if the agenda must change, we will do so."
