Marcos Alonso says he never envisaged Eden Hazard would leave Chelsea for Real Madrid this summer. Hazard was linked with a move to the European champions in the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure from the Bernabeu, but the Belgium international remained at Stamford Bridge. Defender Alonso says Hazard is happy at Chelsea and was not sure if there was concrete interest in his services.
“I didn’t see Hazard at Madrid, he is very happy at Chelsea,” he told Radio MARCA. “I don’t know if there was interest or not but Hazard and his family are very well there (London).”
