Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel provides injury update on Callum Hudson-Odoi

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has delivered an injury update regarding Ghanaian forward Callum Hudson-Odoi as he did not feature against Watford on the final day of the 2021/22 English Premier League season.

The 21-year-old has been sidelined since February due to an achilles problem, which was seen him miss a large chunk of the campaign.

Hudson-Odoi made 15 league appearances for Chelsea, scored one goal and provided three assists in the process.

"It's a muscle injury more or less (for Callum Hudson-Odoi) that affected the whole leg, both legs," Tuchel said as quoted by the club's official website.

"There is a lack of force that he can simply bring and the tests showed he lacked mobility and the force to be on the pitch. That's why we miss him for so, so long."

In total, the forward made 28 appearances in all competitions, scored three and provided six assists.

Hudson-Odoi will return for next season and look to work his way into Tuchel's plans as they look to rebuild the squad with Todd Boehly's consortium.
