Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil is full of praise for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.
Benzema has been a long time target for the Gunners and Ozil weighed into the controversy over his snub by France coach Didier Deschamps.
The German told SFR Sport: "Things have happened that I am not really aware of.
"But as a player, Benzema belongs to the category of the best strikers in the world. I find it a pity he does not play in the France team."
Benzema penned a new deal with Real last month, but continues to be linked with Arsenal in both the Spanish and English press.
