Chelsea Reward Backroom Staff With Contract Extensions After Flying Start

Chelsea have decided to reward all of Antonio Conte's backroom staff with contract extensions after seeing how swimmingly things are going under the Italian and his contingent.

The Blues extended their winning streak to 11 with a 1-0 win against Crystal Palace on Saturday, also extending their lead at the top of the Premier table to seven points.

Ever since that 3-0 loss to Arsenal in September, Conte hasmaintained a stranglehold on the division, and will have the Blues top at Christmas, something which has always been beneficial to title pursuits.

The manager signed a three-year deal with the club, but his backroom staff were only given one year deals to begin with, as the club held reservations regarding such a large coaching staff. However, with the team's recent success, the board has acted quickly, and have added two years to their contracts at the club.

According toThe Times, Conte's assistantsGianluca Conte ( his brother), and Angelo Alessio were offered new deals.Fitness coaches Paolo Bertelli and Julio Tous, assistant fitness coach Costantino Coratti, goalkeeping coach Gianluca Spinelli and nutritionist Tiberio Ancora have also been made offers of a contract extension.

Conte will hope to continue his winning streak, with games against Bournemouth and Stoke City, but will have to brave it out against the Cherries without Diego Costa and N'Golo Kante.

The pair received yellow cards against Palace on Saturday, taking both their tallies up to five for the season, and as a result will sit out the next game.
