Christian Atsu to have chance to leave Newcastle in next transfer window

Ghana forward Christian Atsu will have the chance to leave Newcastle United in the next transfer window, manager Steve Bruce has hinted.

The former Chelsea winger has been left out of the Magpies 25-man squad for the English Premier League after going down the pecking order.

Before the summer transfer window was shut, Christian Atsu was linked with a move to Scottish giants Celtic but a deal could not be reached.

According to manager Steve Bruce, all players who missed out on the 25-man squad will have the chance to secure moves to different clubs when the January transfer window comes around.

“Selecting the squad is always difficult because you know you have to leave people out. With all the players, they’re professionals and they want to play week in, week out.

“With the players we’ve brought in, it makes it even tougher but it’s a decision you have to make. Those who aren’t involved will continue to train and keep themselves right and once we hit December and January, we hope we can get them fixed up with clubs”, the Newcastle United manager said in an interview.

It is now likely Atsu will complete his move to Celtic next year.
