German Bundesliga 2 side VfL Osnabrück has announced the signing of German-born Ghanaian forward Christian Joe Conteh.

Christian Conteh transferred from FC St. Pauli to Feyenoord Rotterdam in the summer of 2020. The 16-time Dutch champions temporarily leased the quick winger to SV Sandhausen, FC Dordrecht in the Netherlands, and Dynamo Dresden last season so that he could get some playing experience.

Conteh signed a deal with VfL Osnabrück on Thursday afternoon and will represent the Lila-Weißen in the 2nd Bundesliga. On Matchday 2 (4 August), he will face his brother Sirlord, who competes for SC Paderborn 07.

“In Christian Conteh we are getting a player who will make our offensive game even more unpredictable. He has a very good pace and is always courageous in one-on-one situations. He drew attention to himself as a young professional at FC St. Pauli and recently had a very good season at Dynamo Dresden,” explains VfL sporting director Amir Shapourzadeh.

"We are very happy that Christian has chosen our path and VfL despite other offers and options. Here we want to offer him the platform to develop as a player and as a personality,”
