CK Akonnor was not sacked by Kotoko- Nana Coker

Nana Gyambibi Coker, special assistant to Asante Kotoko Executive Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei insists that Asante Kotoko did not give CK Akonnor the sack and may take the appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association earlier ruled in favour of the former Hearts of Oak and AshantiGold boss regarding unpaid salaries after it was revealed that he was sacked.

Nana Coker however refutes that point.

"CK Akonnor wasn't sacked by Kotoko that's why we appealed at the player status committee. We will never accept the sack of CK but he rather wrote to us that he has resigned after he was elevated so how can this be explained that his contract was terminated," he told Light FM.

He added that they are ready to take the case to CAS if the need arises.

"We are holding out on this case with our lawyers in control, if the case must be taken to Court of Arbitration of Sports (CAS), we are ready to battle it out".

CK Akonnor will manage his first game as Black Stars boss in late March as they face Sudan in the AFCON 2021 qualifiers.
