Asante Kotoko head coach Charles Kwabla Akuunor has expressed his dissatisfaction with his team's inability to dominate possession despite thrashing Inter Allies 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.

The Porcupine Warriors recorded their third high-profile friendly win under the former AshantiGold SC trainer as they intensified preparations ahead of their CAF Confederations Cup campaign in December.

Coach Akunnor is well-known for his possession-based and entertaining style of football dubbed the “Agroball” but since taking charge of the Reds, they have failed to replicate his style of play and believes his side must improve ahead of their game against Kenyan giants Kariobangi Sharks who qualified to the 1/16th stage of the Confederations Cup in ground style.

“It was okay but we needed to keep the ball better. The first half was okay but the second half was not good as we could not keep the ball", he said.

“If you don’t keep the ball against our opponents (Kariobangi Sharks) then there would be a problem”

Kariobangi Sharks FC defeated Djibouti’s Arta Sola 3-0 in the second leg of CAF second-tier competition to record a 9-1 aggregate score to set up a meeting with Asante Kotoko.
