Asante Kotoko Chairman, Dr. Kwame Kyei has debunked claims that coach Charles Kwablah Akunnor will be leaving the club amid claims that management is interfering in his work.

According to the club chairman, the 44-year-old gaffer who is in his first stint at the club has his full support to make the Porcupine Warriors great.

Report emerged in the media that the former AshantiGold and Hearts of Oak trainer threatened to tender in his resignation the night before Kotoko faced Nkana FC in Kumasi on Sunday.

Speaking on Asempa FM on Tuesday, Dr. Kyei revealed that there is no problem between the two."There is no problem with me and the coach. We have a cordial working relationship, and nothing has come between us", he stated.

It was believed that some management members of Asante Kotoko were interfering his job by imposing some players on the coach to name in his starting line up against the Zambian side on Sunday but Dr. Kyei refuted such claims and stated that Kotoko are enjoying one of it's best moments and he will not allow such false allegations to ruin the success of the club in the African campaign.

"There are countless times that I have spoken to Akunnor concerning his selection, and it has always been cordial, with both sides defending our views".

"There is no such misunderstanding between myself and the coach and I will advise that fans of the club rather concentrate on our match".

The club Chairman also stressed that Akunnor has his support and his position at the club remains 'rock solid'.

"I don't have time to listen to gossips whiles managing Asante Kotoko. I want to see the club at a different level".

"CK Akonnor has my support and I will continue to back him to make Kotoko great again. His position at the club is rock solid". He is one of the best coaches in Ghana.Let's all keep supporting him and the players" he concluded.

Asante Kotoko are preparing ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup match-day five with Al Hilal of Sudan at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
