James Kwesi Appiah, head coach of the senior national team the Black Stars of Ghan has debunked reports that the team are stranded in Kenya ahead of the camping for their AFCON qualifiers against Ethiopia.

Reports went viral on Wednesday that the technical team and the playing body were stranded in Nairobi upon arrival in the Kenyan capital.

However, the former Al Khartoum manager says the team is currently relaxed at the City Lodge Hotel in Nairobi and reports that his side is stranded is untrue.

“We are not stranded. We are comfortably relaxing in our hotel. Everything is going on as planned,” he told Ghana Sports Online.

"We were picked at the airport with a bus to the hotel on arrival. The rest of the players who came later after our arrival were transported to the hotel," he added.

Ghana are camping in the East African country in preparation for the Group F game on Sunday.

The four-time African champions must win against Ethiopia after the doubleheader against Sierra Leone was cancelled.

Ghana sit 3rd with 3 points after two matches played.
