Coach Nii Odoom reveals Hearts players are eager GPL restart

Head coach for Accra Hearts of Oak, Edward Nii Odoom has disclosed that his players are eager to see the resumption of the suspended Ghana Premier League (FPL) season.

The football season in Ghana has been put on hold since March due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis in the West African country.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) was targeting a restart in July but the extension on the ban on football activities by the government last Sunday has made that look almost impossible.

In the midst of all the inactivity and uncertainty, Coach Odoom says his players are desperately waiting for the resumption of the football season.

"We talk with the players every day. Their worry is when the game is coming on and when we are starting the league. The board of the club has dealt with the financial aspect so they are okay. I told them that the president has said that the start of football will be reviewed from 31st July”, the gaffer said in an interview with Happy FM today on the theme ‘The Effect of COVID-19 on football; the perspective of Ghanaian coaches’.

Hearts of Oak was relatively poor in the GPL before the campaign was suspended but hopes to make amends when the campaign restarts.
