The edifice has been under renovation since February 2020.

The work forced Asante Kotoko to opt for Accra Sports Stadium as teh home grounds prior to the start of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.

It was expected the renovation will be done before March.

However, Professor Twumasi in an interview has revealed that Hon. Mustapha Ussif will embark on a nationwide tour to inspect all sports facilities across the country in the coming week.

“The most needed work at the stadium is almost complete, we’re just waiting for approval from the green grass technology so football games can commence.

“I have a meeting with the Sports Minister [Ussif Mustapha] next week, he [Ussif Mustapha] will visit all projects across the country which include the Baba Yara Sports Stadium and commission it for football to be enjoyed once again”, he added.

Meanwhile, ahead of the second round of the football season, Asante Kotoko will play their homes games at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
