Crystal Palace Boss Alan Pardew Says a Few 'Big Errors' Caused the 3-2 Defeat to Burnley

Alan Pardew has said his team didn't do much wrong after falling to a last gasp Ashley Barnes winner in their 3-2 defeat to Burnley.

Sam Vokes opened the scoring two minutes in with a tap-in and Gudmundsson doubled their lead inside 14 minutes after being put through on goal from a devastating counter-attack.

Crystal Palace dominated the game though and were rewarded on the hour mark when substitute Connor Wickham scored with his very first touch from a Wilfried Zaha cross.

The Eagles equalised with 10 minutes left after Lowton gave away a penalty for a handball and ChristianBenteke coolly sent TomHeaton the wrong way.

Although the game looked like it was heading for a draw, Ashley Barnes finished off a 94th minute counter-attack to steal all three points.

However, Pardew has said if not fora few 'big errors' Crystal Palace should have won.

"There wasn't much wrong with our game today outside of those big errors and Burnley punished those errors," said Pardew

"This defeat is a big blow for us because we have some tough games coming up. We're going to have be strong after the international break and get some results. We dominated and actually played some good football today.

"We don't look like a team that has lost four games, it's been fine margins. We need to cut out these mistakes, and get ourselves to a position where we can see out a game. We set the target of scoring two goals today and when you do that away from home you should be looking to take the points. Our position in the table is not a reflection of our performances but it is what it is."
