According to theCroydon Advertiserand sources in Ghana, Crystal Palace striker and Ghana internationalKwesi Appiah has made a shock loan move to Norwegianside Viking Stavanger and is set to stay until the summer.

Appiah has not had an easy time at Palace so far suffering numerous injuries and has struggled to get into the first team, only playing six times in five years.

Appiah had been been interesting a League One side in January, but Palace were unsure over the Ghanaian's fitness and blocked the move so he could continue his latest recovery at the Eagles.

It now seems that Appiah is getting close to full fitness and has reportedly joined his new Viking team-mates in Spain for the club's pre-season camp in Spain.

The Norwegian football season is set to begin on the 1st April, according to theBBC, with Viking's first game being a trip away to Valerenga on the 3rd.

Crystal Palace picked up Appiah aged 21 from current National League South side Margate in January 2012.

Appiah has spend most his tenure at Palace away on loan. His most successful spell was with Cambridge United where he scored six goals in nineteen appearances helping the side to the fourth round of the FA Cup where they held the giants to a replay in January 2015.

Kwesi Appiah was not there for either game however as he was called up to the Ghana squad for the African Cup of Nations where he scored his only international goal so far against Guinea.

Appiah has secured six caps for The Black Stars.
