Dembele chase heats up as Brighton boss Hughton says striker must be bought

Published on: 27 December 2017

It appears that Brighton manager Chris Houghton has identified Moussa Dembele from Celtic as the forward he wants to sign.

The forward has lit up the Scottish League, and Brighton are hoping to get a deal done in the January transfer window.

When asked about the matter in a post-game interview, Houghton did not deny the need for a new striker.

"Yes it has [on the lack of strikers becoming a problem]," he said.

"It's something we're working on. Trying to get those balances right - getting the right personnel in the team. All you can keep do is working on them."

It is unclear whether Brighton can offer an amount that will make Celtic sell midway through the season.
