Legon Cities coach Paa Kwesi Fabin charged for misconduct in Asante Kotoko defeat

Legon Cities FC and head coach Paa Kwesi Fabin are under fire for violating Ghana Premier League regulations 2019.

The allegations stem from their recent match against Asante Kotoko SC which ended in a 2-0 loss at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

They're accused of flouting Section 38 (8) (a) by skipping the mandatory post-match press conference.

Additionally, Fabin allegedly breached Section 34 (6) (d) by deliberately avoiding the press conference, an act labeled as misconduct.

Both the club and Fabin must respond to the charges by Thursday, May 9, 2024. This incident emphasizes the importance of adhering to league rules to maintain the sport's integrity and professionalism.

Non-compliance not only damages the club and coach's reputation but also reflects poorly on the entire league.

Steven Mukwala gave Asante Kotoko the lead after 33 minutes when he converted from the spot following the awarding of a penalty that is up for debate.

Yussif Mohammed Nurudeen added the second for the home side just five minutes after the break from a scrappy finish. The game then ended with the 2-0 win for Kotoko.

The defeat means the Royals drop from tenth to eleventh with 38 points.
