Ghanaian forward Prince Osei Owusu scored for Toronto FC in their dominant 5-1 win over CF Montreal later Saturday night at the BMO Field in a 2024 Major League Soccer round 14 clash.

The 27-year-old now has six goals in 13 league games and has been a key figure in the ressuregence of Toronto FC after their poor start to the season.

The win means Toronto FC are now fifth on the Eastern Conference League table with 22 points, nine points behind leaders Inter Miami who are being led by Argentine great Lionel Messi.

Toronto took the lead after just six minutes through Matthew Longstaff before Italian Frederico Bernardeschi doubled their lead six minutes later.

Prince Osei Owusu then had the easiest of tasks to finish from close range when Lorenzo Insigne picked up a loose ball and set it for him to finish in the 19th minute.

Bernardeschi scored his second just before the hour mark and then wrapped up his hat-trick two minutes later on the hour mark. Sunusi Ibrahim scored the consolation for the visitors in the 67th minute.
