This was confirmed by Sheikh Tophic Sienu, a member of the Ghana Football Association's Division One League Board.

Reports of the former Bayern Munich defender's resignation surfaced several weeks ago, but there had been no official confirmation until now.

Sheikh Tophic Sienu's announcement came in response to comments made by former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, who had criticized the lack of many former Ghanaian footballers involved in administration.

"Until recently, Sammy Kuffuor was a management committee member of the Black Stars, a role he held since 2020.

"Same Kuffour was a member of the NC that was appointed by FIFA after the Anas exposé. Is Kuffour not an ex-footballer?," Sheikh Tophic wrote in a post on Facebook.

Kuffour, a legendary defender, has not publicly commented on his resignation or the reasons behind it
