Swedish side IFK Luleå have signed Ghanaian youngster Patrick Kpozo from Östersunds FK in the on-going January transfer window.

The 22-year-old defender penned a six-month loan deal with the club after passing his mandatory medicals and completing the formalities.

Kpozo will spend the rest of the season away from his parent club as part of his development.

"The fact that we can associate players of Patrick’s caliber is a good indication that the effort that has been made has been marked and that we as an association are growing.

"He knows what it means to train and play at the elite level, which is extremely important for our own development," says sporting director Daniel Kalén.

"We see him at first hand as a left-center fielder with us. He has qualities that we will benefit greatly from ahead in the pitch, both with his speed and his ability to put the balls in the box."

The former Inter Allies defender has represented Ghana at the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
