The head coach of Asante Kotoko, Prosper Narteh Ogum has called on fans to have patience for talented attacker Bernard Somuah.

The Porcupine Warriors club on Wednesday, August 30, announced the signing of the 17-year-old after he passed a mandatory medical examination.

“Asante Kotoko is pleased to confirm the signing of Bernard Somuah from Afigya Liberty on a three-year deal.

“The 17-year-old who has already had training sessions with the club and has featured in three of the Club’s four pre-season friendlies officially became a Porcupine after passing his medical on Tuesday,” a club statement said.

Speaking on the new signing Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum waxed lyrical and urged fans not to overhype the player.

“He’s a brilliant player, and he has all the qualities of a modern-day winger. He has hunger for goals, a vision to see the dangers around him, and use space.

"Somuah is technically gifted, and all he needs is to remain disciplined, and I am confident that Kotoko has gotten a real talent," Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum said as quoted on the website of the club.

He continued, "I will plead with the fans to have patience for him and not to overhype him, but to support him and see what the future holds for us.”

Bernard Somuah last season scored 22 goals for Afigya Liberty and is expected to provide a major squad boost for Asante Kotoko in the upcoming season.
