Dreams FC tactician Abdul Karim Zito has eulogized Ghana FA capo Kurt Okraku for his outstanding role in the club’s participation in the ongoing CAF Confederations Cup campaign.

The Ghanaian FA Cup champions has defied all odds to reach the semifinals of the Confederations Cup in their maiden appearance after triumphing over Stade Malien.

Dreams FC came from behind to draw with Stade Malien in Kumasi on Sunday following a 2-1 win in Bamako to seal qualification to the last four of the competition.

The 2009 Confederations Cup winners opened the scoring at the Baba Yara Stadium before Sylvester Simba leveled pegging to snatch a draw on home turf.

Praising the pivotal role played by Kurt Okraku in their journey, head coach Karim Zito highlighted the president's unwavering belief in the squad and his decision to allow them to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

"The directors didn't want us to, but the main man Kurt disagreed with them, and I'm sure we didn't disappoint him," Zito remarked in the post-match press conference.

Dreams become the first Ghanaian side to reach the semis of the CAF Confederation Cup, since Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko did so back in 2005, in the maiden edition of the competition.

The FA Cup holders will lock horns with Egyptian giants Zamalek in the semifinals of the Confederations Cup.

The Still Believe lads will travel to Egypt to face Zamalek in the first leg tie on April 21, 2024 before the return leg in Kumasi on April 28, 2024.
