Eagles swoop for Ayew

Jordan Ayew has joined Crystal Palace on a permanent three-year deal from Swansea following his season-long loan spell last term.

The 27-year-old Ghana international striker scored two goals in 25 appearances, including 14 Premier League starts, for the Eagles last season.

He joined on the back of Swansea's relegation to the Championship and the South Wales outfit's failure to secure promotion at the first attempt has resulted in Ayew moving to Selhurst Park on a full-time basis.

I enjoyed the stadium, the fans, the boys - they were really good to me - everything here was positive and that's why I decided to continue with Crystal Palace.

On his move, Ayew, who scored two goals in Ghana's four games at the African Cup of Nations in Egypt this summer, told the Palace website: "I am very happy [to have returned]. I really enjoyed myself last season.

Palace manager Roy Hodgson added: "We are delighted to secure Jordan's services for another three seasons at Crystal Palace.

"He has proved himself as a dedicated and hard-working member of the squad, and certainly played his part in the club securing its highest ever Premier League points tally in the last campaign."

Ayew is 16/1 to finish Palace's top scorer next season, while the Eagles are 5/1 to be relegated and 1/8 to escape the drop.
