Dutch Eredivisie club FC Groningen has signed Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Elvis Manu on loan from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv.

The 29-year-old forward has previously played in the Eredivisie for Feyenoord, SC Cambuur, and Go Ahead Eagles. He rose to prominence after going through the youth academy of Feyenoord and making his debut in the 2011/2012 season.

Manu impressed in the first half of this year with Botev Plovdiv, where he scored seven goals and provided four assists in 14 league matches.

FC Groningen's Technical Director, Mark-Jan Fledderus, expressed his excitement about Manu's arrival, saying, “Elvis is a player who has already been through a lot in his career and he had the desire to show the Netherlands what he has to offer.

"We think that Elvis can bring us speed, power, but also a certain unpredictability. In addition, he is a player who has actually scored his goals everywhere under all circumstances.”

FC Groningen is currently in the relegation zone and they hope that Manu's addition will provide the much-needed firepower to help them avoid being relegated this season.
