Great Olympics skipper Emmanuel Clottey has attributed his side's defeat to Ashantigold in the opening game of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season to lack of experience.

Olympics suffered a 3-0 defeat at the Len Clay stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Speaking after game, the former Berekum Chelsea striker claimed that Great Olympics are a relatively young side and will need a bit more time to adjust to the Premier League.

"If you look at our players most of them are young and also this is their first premier league experience," he said.

"Some of them are coming from the lower leagues straight to the premiership but this is football we will go back home to fight for points there since we have over 30 games remaining."

He added, "I will congratulate AshantiGold for their victory. They showed this is a competition and played very well."

Great Olympics will face defending champions Aduana Stars in their next league outing at home as they look to bounce back to winning ways.
