Enterprising Ghanaian defender Tariq Lamptey emerges as a potential transfer target for Arsenal

Ghanaian defender, Tariq Lamptey has shockingly emerged as a transfer target for Premier League giants, Arsenal.

The 19-year-old has been magnificent for Brighton & Hove Albion is been chased by top European clubs.

According to reports in the UK, La Liga powerhouse, Barcelona are lining up a move for Hector Bellerin - and the Gunners are eyeing Lamptey as a potential replacement.

Despite the strong interest from Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and other clubs, Arsenal have entered the race and now keeping close tabs on England under-21 starlet Lamptey who has been a revelation at Brighton in the ongoing season.

Lamptey started his career at Chelsea but opted to leave last January last season to get regular game time and that decision has reaped rich rewards as he has become a key figure for Brighton and earned rave reviews.

Brighton will be keen to tie down Lamptey to a new deal amid interest from other clubs, as manager Graham Potter has stressed just how highly they rate him.

However, the Ghana Football Association [GFA] have been chasing him on the international scene too, because, even though he was born in London, he is eligible to play for both countries through his parentage, while England are blessed with a huge range of options at right-back with Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kieran Trippier and Reece James.

However, the Tariq Lamptey's Foundation has donated football equipment to kids in the Ghanaian village of Nuaso near Odumase Krobo in the Eastern Region on Saturday.
