Ghana international Ernest Asante appears to have enjoyed Omonia Nicosia’s crucial win against Red Star Belgrade in the Uefa Champions League third qualification round on Wednesday night.

The Cypriot First Division club was in action yesterday as they hosted the Serbian champions to fight for a place in the final playoff round of the qualification to next season’s Uefa Champions League.

On the matchday, Ernest Asante featured for Omonia Nicosia as a substitute in the final minutes of the extra time after the game had ended 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.

The exciting forward made his experience count and scored a penalty during the shootout to help his team win 4-2.

At the end of the game, Ernest Asante could not hide his job and took a selfie with fans in the background.

Omonia Nicosia is now through to the final stage of the Uefa Champions League qualification. If they are able to beat the next opponent, the team will feature in the upcoming European competition.
