Former Ghana midfielder Michael Essien met his former boss at Chelsea, Jose Mourinho after the Manchester United and CSKA Moscow game in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

The midfielder who now plays for Persib Bandung in the Indonesian League is in England for the Premier League trophy tour and he took time off to visit the man he describes as a dad.

Essien took to his Instagram account to share his excitement posting, "Good to see daddy @josemourinho and the great icon and legend SIR BOBBY CHARLTON.....⚽️❤#Boss"

Essien won the Premier League title, FA Cup and League Cup under Mourinho’s stewardship and clearly still possesses a strong relationship with the Portuguese.

The United boss is now in pursuit of silverware at a new club and watched on as his side advanced to the knockout stage of the Champions League.

Goals from Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford helped Mourinho’s men fight back from a goal down against their Russian opposition.

Essien worked with Mourinho at Chelsea and Real Madrid and the Ghanaian was the Portuguese favourite player at the sides they worked together at.
