Everton chief Walsh safe; involved seeking Koeman replacement

Published on: 24 October 2017

Everton football chief Steve Walsh remains in his position despite the dismissal of Ronald Koeman as manager.

Instead, the Liverpool Echo says Blues chairman Bill Kenwright has asked Walsh for his input over a replacement.

Koeman's backroom staff - containing his brother Erwin, fitness coach Jan Kluitenberg and goalkeeping coach Patrick Lodewijks - have also departed, with Everton expected to pay as much as £8m in severance packages. Duncan Ferguson, the first team coach, remains in position for the time being.

Names mentioned as potential targets include Watford boss Marco Silva, Bournemouth's Eddie Howe and, most surprisingly, former Blues boss David Moyes. More ambitious names, such as the out-of-work duo Carlo Ancelotti and Thomas Tuchel, are also in the frame.
