Ex-Black Stars player Laryea Kingston backs Andre Ayew to shine at West Ham

Former Ghana winger Laryea Kingston believes Andre Ayew will make a huge impact for West Ham this season, despite the arrivals of new players.

Andre Ayew joined West Ham last season but endured a difficult time last term due to injuries but ended the season strongly bagging in six goals from 12 appearances.

West made two big signings in the transfer window, bringing in former Manchester United striker Javier “Chicharito” Hernanadez and record signing Marco Arnautovic from Stoke City.

However, the former Hearts of Mitholidian midfielder insists Andre Ayew will shine in the Premier League this season.

“One thing about Dede Ayew is that he works so hard and even when things are not going his way he tries to do something because he plays with his heart,” he said on the Legend’s night show on GhOne.

“He was unfortunate to get injured in last season’s opener against Chelsea but he finished the season very well. But now that West Ham have signed all these players who are mostly attackers I know he (Ayew) will step up because he likes competition so I still instill my confidence in him,” Laryea added.

Andre Ayew and his West Ham teammates will begin their season at Old Trafford against Manchester United.
