Former Black Stars skipper, Asamoah Gyan has opened up about his relationship with Andre Ayew.

The relationship between the pair has always dominated the media with many insisting they are having a rocky relationship.

Those rumors were magnified after the former Sunderland striker’s Black Stars captaincy was stripped only to be given to the former Marseille man.

However, Gyan has put an end to the rumors by suggesting that the nature of their relationship is not as unhealthy as most people make it out to be.

“In life, you don’t know people’s minds, I might talk to you right now but I might not like you but I have to talk to you.

“I see what is in front of me, I don’t see what is behind me. For me what I see in Andre, I don’t have any problem, but behind I don’t know (what he thinks of me) behind.

“Behind he doesn’t know what I also have in mind. But from what I see, he is a positive guy, who knows his job, who is very passionate about his job, who laughs, and who motivates people. That is the Andre I know,” he concluded.

Gyan, who remains the country's top goalscorer has been out of the Black Stars since 2019 after the Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] in Egypt.
