Former Black Star striker, Kwesi Appiah scored the consolation goal for Crawley Town on Tuesday night when the team was hammered 6-1 by Charlton Athletic in the Football League Trophy in England.

The experienced forward joined the English lower-tier club this summer and is looking to help the club gain promotion to the upper league at the end of the 2021/2022 football season.

Called into action in a game against a powerful Charlton Athletic side, Kwesi Appiah managed to establish himself as the bright star in a doomed team.

On the matchday, he converted a penalty kick for the visitors as they were put to the sword by the host.

Courtesy of a brace from Josh Davison, plus goals from Corey Blackett-Taylor, Elliot Lee, Mason Burstow, and an own goal from George Francomb, Charlton Athletic cruised to a 6-1 win at the end of the game.
