Ex-Chelsea assistant Ray Wilkins says Liverpool's signing of Mohamad Salah is a bargain, if you compare him to Michy Batshuayi.
Salah has made a stunning start to life on Merseyside after arriving from Roma for £36.9million this summer. The Egyptian has scored 12 times in his first 17 appearances for the Reds.
Comparatively, Batshuayi has scored just 16 goals since arriving from Marseille for £33million last summer.
"It's a tad of a bargain isn't it," said Wilkins of Salah. "When you think Batshuayi cost us [Chelsea] £33million, he doesn't produce stuff like that.
"Salah, he left Chelsea, he went to Roma, and he played.
"You never know what these guys can do unless they're given a run of games. He's scored goals in Rome and he's doing exactly the same at Liverpool.
"He's almost becoming a bit of a cult hero there at Anfield. Some of his football has been outstanding."
