Ex Hearts goalie James Nanor backs team to win this season’s Ghana league title

Former Hearts of Oak goalkeeper James Nanor says the team cannot afford to lose this season’s Ghana Premier League title.

Hearts managed a 1-1 draw in their last premier league game with leaders All Stars at the Wa Park.

The Phobians still remain 3rd on the standings with with 41 points, 1 point adrift of leaders Wa All Stars.

With five matches to end the season, Nanor who won several laurels with Hearts says the players and officials must do everything possible to win the title.

“It’s only a point that separates them and the leaders so I think realistically they have a good chance of doing something great this season. But I have a problem with the inconsistent results they record sometimes and that could go against them”, Nanor mentioned.

He was of the view that the players should forget about anything that might distract their focus and make sure they go all out in their remaining five matches.

“The players should know that playing Hearts of Oak is one of the great things that can happen in the careers and they should give it all their might. This is the closest they have come in about six to seven years in terms of winning the league and I believe they can do it if they really want to.”

“The other teams too will not give up and I can see Wa All Stars, Aduana and Kotoko all chasing the title and that is good for Ghana football.”
