Ex-Kotoko Chief Yaw Bawuah dies at age 82

Former Asante Kotoko chairman Yaw Bawuah has been confirmed dead in Kumasi.

Mr. Bawuah, who led the Porcupine Warriors to win their second CAF Champions League title in 1983 beating Egyptian giants Al Ahly in the final passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022.

The legendary Chairman played a huge role for the two-time African Champions during his tenure.

The cause of the demise of the former Kotoko Chief is yet to be known.

He assembled the squad which included Opoku Nti, Papa Arko, Joseph Carr and former Black Stars coach Kwasi Appiah to conquer Africa under his auspices.
