Former Asante Kotoko striker, Kwame Opoku has pledged to donate $300 to help build a new stadium for the club.

Opoku's promise comes after the Chief Executive Officer [CEO] of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah in an interview with Kumasi based Oyerepa FM revealed that he will need 100,000 supporters to contribute just $100 to be able to build a new stadium for the club.

The idea has been largely welcomed by the fans of the club with several fans pledging to donate more than what it is expected of them.

However, Opoku who joined USM Alger from Asante Kotoko last season has vowed to make a donation to help his former employers to get their own stadium according to a report filed by Kickgh.com.

The 22-year-old netted four goals last season for the Reds in 16 matches and later became a super substitute at the Omar Hamdi Stadium.

In the ongoing campaign, the Black Stars forward is looking to rediscover his form as he is yet to find the back of the net in 8 outings so far in the Algerian top flight.

Opoku resumed training with his teammates on Sunday after a lengthy injury layoff.
