Asante Kotoko have expressed interest in AshGoold trio of Shafiwu Mumuni, James Akaminko and Richard Djodi, FootballMadeInGhana.com can exclusively reveal.
This follows a request by head coach C.K. Akonnor for the trio to augment his squad for the CAF Confederation Cup campaign.
Footballmadeinghana.com can confirm that the Management of Asante Kotoko has officially written to AshGold asking for the three players.
The request is however, based on the priorities of the Porcupine Warriors with Shafiwu Mumuni being the most wanted.
Kotoko insiders have disclosed to FootballMadeInGhana.com that the most wanted player is Shafiwu Mumuni with James Akaminko being the next before Richard Djodi.
Shafiwu Mumuni, a Drogba-like striker and a proven goal scorer, is needed by CK Akunnor to lead Kotoko’s attack supported by Songne Yacouba who loves dropping deep for the ball.
Shafiwu scored 19 goals in all competitions including friendly matches in 2018.
James Akaminko, one of the most intelligent holding midfielders is expected to strengthen Akonnor’s midfield while Djodi serves as aback up for Abdul Fatawu Shafiwu who always supports Yacouba upfront.
Asante Kotoko have three remaining slot to register new players for their Confederation Cup campaign.
