Exclusive: Kamaldeen Sulemana set to resume Stade Rennais training mid-May

Published on: 22 April 2022

Ghana playmaker, Kamaldeen Sulemana is set to return to Stade Rennais training middle of next month, Footballghana.com can exclusively confirm.

The 20 year old has been out of action since February.

Kamaldeen missed out on Ghana's 2022 World Cup playoff games against Nigeria due to the injury.

His last game played was against Paris Saint-Germain in the French Ligue 1.

However, head coach of the side, Bruno Genesio speaking to the press revealed that the former Right to Dream Academy graduate will reume full training on May 4.

“Kamaldeen (Sulemana) we are still waiting. He underwent an infiltration, we had to wait three weeks, I believe that we will be ten days away, there are still a fortnight before waiting for the verdict," he said.

"We will therefore have to wait until May 4 at least to find out more. The end of the season of the Ghanaian therefore promises to be well compromised, the staff traditionally not wanting to take risks,"  he added.

On May 4, three games will remain in Rennes this season: Nantes (May 11), Marseille (May 14) and Lille (May 21).

Kamaldeen has made a total of 21 appearances for the club scoring four goals in the process after joining the club from FC Nordsjaelland.
