Veteran Ghana defender, Denis Odoi will not be part of the Black Stars squad that will be assembling during the October international break.

This is because the Club Brugge defender is not part of the Ghana squad named by head coach Chris Hughton on Wednesday, October 4.

The 23-man squad sees fit-again defender Tariq Lamptey replacing Denis Odoi in the Black Stars ahead of the international friendly matches against Mexico and USA.

As announced by the GFA, Ghana will take on Mexico at the Bank of America stadium – Charlotte on Saturday, October 14 before taking on the United States of America on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, in Nashville Tennessee.

Coach Chris Hughton is expected to use the two friendlies as part of the build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers in November and the Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.

Other players overlooked in the latest Black Stars call-up include captain Andre Ayew, Baba Rahman, Kamaldeen Sulemana, as well as Kingsley Schindler.
