The 2019/2020 football season in Ghana has been on suspension for the past 3 months as a result of the Coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.

Yesterday, the President of the West African Country, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his 10th address to the nation announced that he is extending the ban on football activities in the country.

In line with that, the football season is expected to stay on suspension for some more time until the government says otherwise.

Speaking to Happy FM, Albert Commey has backed the decision by the government even though he insists the football community wants the sports to make a return to help alleviate the economic hardships clubs are going through.

“Coronavirus is a very dangerous pandemic and you can’t blame President Akufo-Addo for the measures put in place because he is the one who is briefed from all the regions on what is really happening. So you have no choice than to accept it whether you like it or not”, the Eleven Wonders CEO said.

He added, "As football people, our wish is to restart the season as soon as possible to offset some of the financial burdens as a result of this health crisis but God knows best and we should all play our role in helping to curtail the spread of the virus”
