Fatawu Issahaku: Sporting Lisbon will accept offers for Ghanaian youngster

Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon are ready to listen to offers for Ghanaian youngster Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.

The 19-year-old winger, who joined the Portuguese top-tier club in April 2022 has struggled to break into the senior team.

Issahaku was rotated in the just ended 2022/23 season at Sporting Lisbon. He managed to make 12 first team appearances across all competitions, providing one assist.

The Black Meteors star spent almost the entire season with Sporting Lisbon’s youth team and excelled.

The Ghana international current contract with Sporting will elapse in 2027 but seems not to be in the plans of manager Ruben Amorim ahead of the new season.

Footballghana.com has learnt Sporting will either cash in on Fatawu or farm him out on loan this summer.

Issahaku is yet to earn a call up into the Black Stars under Chris Hughton, who took over the national team after Otto Addo’s resignation.

Meanwhile, he has been named in the Black Meteors squad for the pre-U23 AFCON in Morocco.

He is expected to travel with the team on Monday for two-weeks camping in Egypt.
