Information reaching footballghana.com is indicating that FC Porto is close to completing the signing of Ghana defender Gideon Mensah.
The Portuguese giants are preparing for the 2020/2021 football season and have decided to bring in a few top additions to give their team a squad boost.
As reported by footballghana.com earlier this month, FC Porto is keen on signing a left-back and has identified Gideon Mensah as a player with the quality to help the team.
After reportedly commencing negotiations with the player’s parent club Red Bull Salzburg, the Portuguese club is now said to be on the verge of securing his services.
Last season, the Ghana left-back spent the season at Belgian Jupiler Pro League club Zulte Waregem on a season-long loan.
He impressed with 2 assists from 19 appearances before the campaign was ended abruptly with a match to spare as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Besides Porto, Gideon Mensah also has interest from clubs including Monaco, Genk, Anderlecht, and Vitoria Guimaraes.
