Turkish football giants, Fenerbahce, are eyeing a potential summer swoop for Arsenal's midfielder Thomas Partey, as reported by Fotospor.

Sources suggest that Fenerbahce's president, Ali Koç, has engaged in discussions with the 30-year-old and his representatives.

However, the potential transfer hinges on the outcome of Fenerbahce's upcoming presidential elections, which will likely dictate the club's future pursuits.

Partey, who has grappled with injuries throughout the past season, could find himself surplus to requirements under Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta's plans to infuse youthful vigour into the squad.

Despite his undeniable talent, Partey's fitness woes have raised concerns, especially as he approaches his 31st birthday. It's uncertain whether these issues will abate with time.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has hinted at Partey's imminent departure from Arsenal. Romano disclosed on the JD Football Show on YouTube that Arsenal is eyeing Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz and Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi as potential replacements.

"Thomas [Partey] will leave. Arsenal has several players [targets] lined up, so there is a good chance they will bring in a new midfielder," he said on the show.

Partey's potential move to Fenerbahce might face stiff competition, with other top clubs such as Barcelona, Juventus, and several Saudi Arabian teams expressing interest in the midfielder.

The Ghana international endured an injury-riddled campaign in the recently concluded Premier League season, featuring only 14 times for Arsenal, starting in nine of those appearances.

Thomas Partey made the switch to Arsenal from Atletico Madrid in 2020 after the Gunners triggered his £45 million release clause.
