The FIFA Disciplinary Committee has issued decisions regarding the Equatorial Guinean Football Association (FEGUIFUT) and player Emilio Nsue López, finding the latter ineligible for participating in several national team matches, including two in the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 preliminary competition.

The committee, after thorough consideration of the evidence, confirmed that Nsue López was ineligible.

As a result, FIFA has declared the matches against Namibia on November 15, 2023, and Liberia on November 20, 2023, as forfeited by Equatorial Guinea, assigning a 3-0 score in favor of their opponents.

Further sanctions include a fine of CHF 150,000 imposed on FEGUIFUT and a six-month ban on Emilio Nsue López from playing for any representative team of any association.

FIFA has notified the concerned parties of the committee’s findings. According to the FIFA Disciplinary Code, the parties have ten days to request a motivated decision, which would then be published on legal.fifa.com.

The decisions are also subject to appeal before the FIFA Appeal Committee.
