Ghana’s all-time leading goal-scorer, Asamoah Gyan was on target this afternoon when his NorthEast United side drew 1-1 with Kerala Blasters in the Indian Super League (ISL).

The Black Stars forward joined the Asian club in the summer transfer window as a free agent after he had parted ways with Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor upon the expiry of his contract.

Having impressed since his arrival, Gyan was handed a starting role for NorthEast United this afternoon after recovering from a minor injury recently.

He did not disappoint and ended up scoring an important goal that earned his team a point.

Asamoah Gyan scored with a penalty on the 50th minute to cancel out a first-half equalizer from Bartholomew Ogbeche on the 43rd minute which had shot Kerala Blasters into the lead.

The Ghanaian remained sharp in the remaining minutes of the second half and played a key role to ensure his team returned home with an important point.

So far the former Sunderland FC striker has scored four times and has also provided one assist after making 8 appearances in the Indian top-flight league.
