Dreams FC head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, delivered a sobering message to Asante Kotoko supporters following his team's 2-0 victory over the Porcupine Warriors.

Following his side's win over his former side, Zito urged Kotoko fans to temper their expectations for the remainder of the Ghana Premier League season.

With goals from Sylvester Simba and Derrick Atta Agyei securing the win for Dreams FC, Kotoko's defeat marked their seventh loss in nine league games, highlighting their current struggles.

Speaking from his experience as a former coach of the club, Zito empathetically appealed to supporters to come to terms with the reality of the team's situation.

He emphasized the importance of patience and focus in navigating through a challenging period, rather than relying solely on vocal support.

"I would like to take this opportunity to plead to our supporters that we should forget about the league. We should try to end it. We should make peace with reality," the former Black Satellites coach said.

"The team is not in good shape so the shouting and the hooting will not bring it back. But patience and focus can bring it back," Zito added.

Currently languishing in 11th position on the league table with a modest 33 points, Kotoko finds themselves trailing league leaders Samartex by a significant 16-point margin.

The 2024 season has been particularly unforgiving for Kotoko, who have suffered eight defeats in the league alone. Their woes were further compounded by exits from the FA Cup and a loss in the Presidents Cup.

Looking ahead, Kotoko's next league fixture is a crucial home game against FC Samartex 1996 at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday, April 20th.
