Former Ghana coach Avram Grant declares interest in Hull City job – Reports

Former Ghana coach Avram Grant has reportedly declared his interest in the vacant Hull City coaching job.

The Championship outfit are in search of a new trainer to replace Shota Arveladze and Grant, who managed the Black Stars between 2014 to 2017 is said to have shown interest.

The 67-year-old is jobless after leaving Indian side NorthEast United in 2018. The last time he led a club in England was back in 2011.

According to a report by Hull Live, the Israeli trainer is keen to lead Hull City at the MKM Stadium.

It is Carlos Carvalhal and Pedro Martins have all shown interest in the Hull City job.

Chelsea turned to Grant in September 2007 and he went on to spend eight months at the helm at Stamford Bridge.

He guided the London club to the Champions League final during his time there but they were defeated by Manchester United on penalties.

The Israeli manager then had a spell at Portsmouth before West Ham came calling in 2010. However, his stint with the Hammers lasted just a single campaign and he was dismissed after 15 wins out of 47 matches.

Grant has since had spells at Partizan, Ghana and NorthEast United and is now weighing up his next move in the game.

He led the Black Stars to the final of the 2015 African Cup of Nations but unfortunately lost the trophy to Ivory Coast on penalties.
