Ex-Ghana coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor has cautioned Black Stars not to seek revenge against Uruguay but must set sights on qualifying from the group at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Black Stars were eliminated by the two-time champions on penalties in South Africa, having seen Asamoah Gyan miss an extra-time spot-kick after Luis Suarez was sent off for handball.
Ghana, who make a return to the tournament after missing out on the 2018 edition in Russia take on Portugal in their first game in Group H on November 24 before playing South Korea and Uruguay on November 28 and December 2 respectively.
"I was there my self. I was shocked. I can affirm how he [Asamoah Gyan] feels but we should not look at it in the way of revenge. We are going into a tournament and you need to come out good in the group and move to the next stage. You could win Uruguay and go out.
"All the games are difficult that is why it’s important not to focus on one team,” the former Kotoko trainer stated on Metro TV’s Good Evening Ghana.
