Former Ghana international Baffour Gyan wants to see a consistent Black Stars team following their back-to-back wins during the 2026 World Cup qualifying games against Mali and Central Africa Republic.

The Black Stars secured an important away win over Mali last Thursday in Bamako before returning to Kumasi to beat Central Africa Republic at the Baba Yara Stadium, making it two wins in a row.

This means the Black Stars have ended their winless run this year after going seven games without a win.

The four-time Africa Champions are chasing their fifth qualification to the biggest soccer mundial.

And in an interview with Koforidua-based Swiit FM, the former Ghana international said he hope the team maintain momentum following their exploits in the qualifiers.

“We’ve won two games in a row, so let’s hope and pray for more victories. You can't take prayer out. It's very important. Having won two games, I hope the team maintains the winning run in subsequent games" he said.

Ghana are currently second on the 2026 World Cup qualifications standings, accumulating 9 points after four games in Group I.

The qualifying series for the World Cup will resume in March 2025.
