Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Salim Adams scored his first goal for FC Cincinnati 2 in their defeat to New England Revolution II in the MLS NEXT Pro Round 1.

The Ghanaian international was handed a starting role and lasted the entire duration in his outfit defeat on Sunday.

Adams hit the back of the net for FC Cincinnati in the 53rd minute as the game ended 5-5 at the Gillette Stadium.

The game had to travel to penalties where New England Revolution II emerged as winners with a 5-4 win on shootout.

The midfielder joined the American out last year after excelling so well in the Ghanaian top-flight with Hearts of Oak.

Adams joined the Orange and Blue as a part of the relationships forged between FC Cincinnati, TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga, and Accra Hearts of Oak, the Ghanaian champions.

Adams is the first player to move to FCC 2 as a part of the Common Value Club Alliance.
